The Bluff to Bar Ocean Swim is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to see you on the start line!
Coming up Saturday, October 4th for the Lexus Maroochydore Bluff to Bar, Queensland’s premier 1.2km OCEAN SWIM and 500m Nipper Bash.
Starting at the iconic Alexandra Headland Bluff and finishing at the Alex Surf Club, this event offers stunning coastal views and a vibrant community atmosphere.
Swimming In Friends & Family Category?
The use of extraneous aids such as wetsuits, fins, boards, snorkels, flotation devices, or personal support teams is prohibited in all waves except for the "Family & Friends; competitors using aids will also not be eligible for podium positions or prizemoney.
Race Times & Check In
Swim Waves have been posted on our website, check these out below.
Check in/Registration will take place in the Alexandra Headland Surf Club Training Room.
Please arrive at least one hour prior to your race start time to collect your race pack and cap.
Walk to the Bluff
After registration, swimmers will walk up to the Bluff with your fellow competitors for the start. Our team and marshals will guide you every step of the way. For those who may be unable to walk we will offer a shuttle bus.
The swim & course map
Swims start from the Bluff, heading down the coastline towards the finish in front of Alexandra Headland Surf Club. See below for the course map. Listen closely to race officials for your wave start and safety instructions. Turning points are in pink, swimmers must swim oceanside.

Post Swim
Once you’ve crossed the finish line, refuel, rehydrate, and celebrate with fellow swimmers, friends, and family on the beach and at the club.
